​​NOC is a modern sports stand with over 12,000 m² of space.

​The only indoor 50 m Olympic-sized pool in Slovakia that meets FINA (International Swimming Federation) criteria.

​In addition to the 50 m swimming pool, visitors also have a 25 m lap pool at their disposal.

​Visitors also have access to another 33 m water polo pool, which is connected to the NOC facility by a connecting section.

​​​NOCKE is located in the heart of Košice and offers a strategic location in the immediate vicinity of the train and bus stations.

​The Olympic Center also boasts other options and spaces of the neighboring Red Star swimming pool with a stainless steel 33 m water polo pool, which is equipped with a sliding wall, with which we can convert this pool into a certified 25 m swimming pool with 8 lanes. The pool is covered with an inflatable hall and is designed for year-round operation.

​The area also has another 33 m swimming pool and a 33 m non-swimming pool.

​​Approximately 250m as the crow flies is the Rumanová swimming pool with a 50m swimming pool with a stainless steel body. Together with NOCKE, these facilities provide high flexibility and capacity for organizing various events.

​Reconstruction of NOC

​The transformation of the MKP (Mestská krytá plaváreň - City indoor swimming pool) into the National Olympic Swimming Center started in August 2023.

​The reconstruction aimed to modernize the facility so that it would meet the strict criteria of the International Swimming Federation, which would allow the organization of international sports events. After almost 40 years of use, without major repairs or reconstruction, the MKP facility was in very poor condition and experts estimated its lifespan to be a maximum of 5 years.

​The NOCKE project is the work of the architectural studio Design Graphic Architecture from Košice and addresses the restoration of the functional state and expansion of the functionality of the MKP so that the object meets the demanding criteria of a sports venue of national importance and FINA requirements.

​The implementation was provided by the company

​TEPELNÉ HOSPODÁRSTVO spoločnosť s ručením obmedzeným Košice (TEHO),

​which operated the MKP since 3/2021, while the city of Košice purchased this building from the Košice - Staré mesto district at the end of January 2021. In the following period, preparations for the reconstruction/reconstruction were launched in cooperation with the city of Košice:

​We start with a construction and technical survey and PD processing.

​The city of Košice signs a memorandum with the Slovak Swimming Federation.

​We are starting a public procurement for the construction contractor.

​We are ending the operation of MKP.

​The Government of the Slovak Republic approves a financial contribution of €8.34 million.

​We sign a contract for the work with the construction contractor and begin construction work.

​​We are completing construction work, starting functional tests and acceptance.

​The total investment in the construction of NOC is approximately 19.9 million euros. Additional funds are directed to interior equipment and operation. The construction is financed from a special-purpose/investment loan, with 8.34 million euros being a financial contribution from ​Fond na podporu športu.

​​The start of construction work was closely linked to the roofing of the water polo pool at the Červená hviezda swimming pool, to which a new infrastructure and technological building with a new gatehouse were built. ​We made this investment in 2022/2023 so that this roofed pool could serve athletes and the public during the reconstruction of the MKP.

​​During the implementation of the NOC project, we had to leave out the premises of the former restaurant and its facilities from the reconstruction due to restrictions. This part was launched in 7/2025, with a completion date of 3 months. In this part of the building, a modern restaurant for 80 people is being built with a kitchen and facilities for employees. This project also includes the construction of an accommodation area for athletes, with a capacity of 28 beds, as well as a club area.

​Future plans

​​In cooperation with the city of Košice, we are preparing the implementation of further stages of development of the NOC area, which aim to improve the efficiency of its operation and increase its attractiveness for visitors. In the near future, we plan to implement:

​​Connecting section with the water polo pool of the ČH swimming pool

​​In 2025, we plan to build a connecting section to connect the NOC pool hall with the water polo pool at the Červená hviezda swimming pool, which will allow visitors to cross to this pool with dry feet and at the same time increase the capacity and flexibility of our pools for both club/sports activities and the public.

​​Connecting the outdoor part of the NOC complex with the Červená hviezda swimming pool. The goal is to operate both facilities efficiently and increase the attractiveness of the complex for visitors. The implementation of the connection is part of the project to build a parking lot and a water slide.

​Construction of a parking lot and a water slide

​​Connection of the NOC and ČH swimming pools together with the construction of a water slide and a parking lot with over 100 parking spaces. The project documentation is already available and we are preparing to start engineering activities for the construction permit. We would like to complete this stage by the summer of 2026. By implementing this stage, we would like to enable effective zoning of the area with the expansion of services for the general public, which would also significantly increase its attractiveness.
